DO Seal any holes or cracks in exterior walls and foundation. Remember to check the attic too. When it starts getting cool outside, many rodents look to your attic for their winter home. Hint: Rodents do not like to chew through steel wool.
DON'T use mulch in direct contact with your home's foundation. It can attract termites and other pests.
DO use rock or other alternative landscaping medium for areas right next to structures.
DO store firewood or other scrap lumber at least 20 feet away from a structure.
DO only bring enough firewood inside to burn the same night. Many varieties of beetles are beautiful and best appreciated outdoors.
DO seal all food containers carefully and if dishes cannot be washed the same day, rinse them thoroughly to prevent attracting insects.
DON'T bring unwanted pests from work or other locations. Occasionally, unwanted pests will "hitchhike" on clothing or in bags. If you've visited a place known to be infested, do not bring bags indoors until they have been treated. Wash clothing as quickly as possible or store in a safe outdoor location. If you do inadvertently bring home an infestation, have your home professionally treated right away.
MYTH: Once you get roaches, you have to have your home sprayed every month until the end of time.
THE TRUTH: With average, proper hygienic practices, roaches can be completely eradicated from most homes in two trips.
DO have your home professionally treated for insects every Fall to prevent infestation in the Spring. Many insects like to use your wall voids as a winter home. You don't know they're there until they come out in the Spring warmth. Unfortunately, the easiest way out of your wall voids is to come inside your home.
DON'T waste your money on store-bought pest control products. These are products professionals stopped using years ago because the insect population became impervious to them. They may partially alleviate the problem temporarily, but in the end, they will cost you precious time and money. Only the reputable professionals have access to products that really work.
DON'T try to treat for bees, wasps or hornets yourself. Two reasons: 1) You could get hurt! 2) Honeybees are critically important to the environment, and they are endangered. As such, they should be carefully protected and moved. Call us and we'll take care of everything for less money than you think, usually in one trip.
DON'T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT...Here are a few testimonials from some of our valued customers.
"My husband and I would like to thank you so much for a second opinion on our situation in the crawl space! Chadd was very informative and [I] felt much better talking to him and understanding how termites work. And it was so nice for the quick response. You'll be our first choice from now on, and thank you again for your honesty." J. Oost
"Chadd--I just wanted to say thank you so much for always taking the time to help me with my critter problems at home and all my stupid questions! It is rare to find such honest and genuine care in service these days, but you always go above and beyond the call of duty." --Blessings, J. Glick
"Thanks for sending your man to inspect my crawl space Wed. 23rd. He did a very good inspection and was very nice and accommodating. It was worth [the money] to me!" --Thank you again, B. Rarick
